Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy explains what VodtoVid does with information when you connect a YouTube channel to it. This site is operated by VodtoVid. You can reach us at hello@legacysound.fm.
What VodtoVid is
VodtoVid turns long recordings into short vertical videos and uploads them to the YouTube channel connected to it. It is a private tool with no public sign-up. It is used by its operator and by creators who have asked for their own channel to be connected.
What we access from your Google account
When you connect a channel, Google asks you to approve the permissions below. VodtoVid requests only these:
youtube.upload: upload videos, with their titles, descriptions and tags, to your channel.youtube.readonly: read your channel's list of videos and their details, so a clip is never uploaded twice and results can be matched to the clips that made them.yt-analytics.readonly: read your channel's own analytics, such as views and watch time, to learn which clips work.
VodtoVid does not ask for your email address, contacts, Google Drive, or any other Google service.
VodtoVid's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
YouTube API Services
VodtoVid uses YouTube API Services. By using VodtoVid you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. How Google handles your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What we store and where
- Sign-in tokens. The tokens Google gives VodtoVid are kept on the operator's own computer, in a folder only the operator can read. They are not sent anywhere else.
- Videos and their text. The videos VodtoVid uploads, and their titles, descriptions and tags, are kept on the same computer.
- Analytics numbers. Views and watch time read from your channel are kept as files on the same computer.
- This website. The public pages collect nothing and set no cookies. The private pages set one sign-in cookie after the operator enters the site passcode. There is no advertising, no tracking and no visitor analytics. The host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for a short time.
How we use it
We use Google data only to provide the upload and analysis features described above. We do not sell it, rent it, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except Google and YouTube, through their own APIs, as part of uploading your videos. No one reads your data except the VodtoVid operator, and only as needed to run the tool.
How we keep it safe
Tokens sit in a user-only folder on the operator's computer, and the private pages of this website need a passcode. VodtoVid is a small personal tool, so we do not claim the protections of a large service.
How long we keep it
Tokens and analytics are kept while a channel is connected. When you revoke access or ask us to delete your data, we delete the stored tokens and analytics within 7 days. Videos already uploaded stay on your YouTube channel and remain yours to manage there.
Your choices
- Revoke VodtoVid's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. It takes effect immediately.
- Email hello@legacysound.fm to ask what is stored about your channel, or to have it deleted.
Children
VodtoVid is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
